History of R.C. Chase Insurance
Richard “Pops” Carney Chase II purchased the Harold M. Drown Agency, founded in 1932, in 1941. “Pops” headed the agency for 26 years until his untimely death in 1967. It was at this time when his son, Richard “Dick” Carney Chase III, assumed ownership. One of the first changes Dick made was to rename the company to the R.C. Chase Insurance Agency in honor of “Pops”. Through the years Dick continued to grow the business through the acquisition of a number of other insurance agencies in the area. Those included the following:
- Mathis and Robie Agency
- Robert Glowacki Agency
- Kenneth L Momeyer Agency
- William D Atkinson Agency
- Rouse Agency
- Clifford Haynes Agency
- Richard Ferguson Agency
- Sedelmyer Agency
- Amos Church Agency
Dick Chase had the privilege of running the agency for 35 years until 2003, when he passed away. The reigns of the business were then transferred to the third generation of the Chase family that has been involved in the insurance business, Dick’s two sons, R. C. Chase IV and Jonathan P. Chase. Today Jonathan serves as the President and R.C as the Vice President.
